Add to Calendar 12-10-2022 17-10-2022 Europe/London POSTPONED: WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 has been re-scheduled for 12-17 October 2022

The 46th WorldSkills Competition, previously scheduled for September 2021 in Shanghai, China, has now been scheduled for 12–17 October 2022.

WorldSkills International announced in November the postponement of the 2021 championship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has now announced the new dates.

So nobody who would have taken part in the contest in 2021 will miss out because they will be above the age limit by 2022, the WorldSkills General Assembly has made a onetime change in the age eligibility criteria for the competition. If a Competitor was age eligible for the WorldSkills Competition 2021, then they will also be eligible for 2022.

It was also agreed that the WorldSkills Conference, which runs parallel to the competition, bringing together leaders in education, government, business, and industry from around the globe, will take place on 13–14 October.

“The new event dates have been decided taking into account the continued unprecedented restrictions brought by the pandemic. We are confident that this period will provide all stakeholders with sufficient time for Members to host local and national competitions, train competitors and to carry out their mission in such challenging times,” said David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills International.
