Compac relaunch their technological marble range in the UK with the introduction of three new colours.
Kelly Hoppen is one of Britain’s most influential designers, so it was a feather in Compac’s cap when she chose the company’s Absolute Blanc quartz for the worktops in a makeover she gave a kitchen on the Superior Interiors programme broadcast on Channel 5 last month (4 October).
The kitchen was at the home of Mr & Mrs Applebaum in Chigwell, Essex. Kelly wanted to create a stunning yet practical kitchen – and judging by the reaction of the Applebaum’s family and friends when they saw it, she succeeded.
The worksurfaces were fabricated by specialists Stonebase, who made a superb job of processing the vibrant white quartz that is a consistent colour, hard wearing, highly resistant to heat, scratches and staining and is easy to clean and maintain.
Compac, a leading European company involved in the manufacture and marketing of compacted, technological marble and quartz surfaces, was founded in 1975 in Valencia.
This once small family business has undergone constant growth to become one of the leading international companies of its type in the world, with production centres in Spain and Portugal and a presence across five continents through its own warehouses and a network of more than 250 associate distributors.
Here in the UK, Compac are best known for their quartz worksurfaces ranges – the latest of which is the Nature Collection, an eco friendly range made using vegetable-based resins.
In mainland Europe, technological marble is a large part of Compac’s business and they are now re-launching this range in the UK, introducing three new colours to the existing 26. They are White Faraya, Beige Faraya and Nubia Fog, available in polished, matt, bush hammered and eggshell / leather texture finishes. They come in standard sizes (60x7cm, 60x40cm and 60x60cm) and thicknesses (12mm, 20mm and 30mm). Extra large format (100x30cm) is also available and there are accessories.
Technological marble is an advanced composite product containing 91-96% natural marble. Resins are added and a vacuum-vibro compression system with heat curing produces a product that is more resilient than natural marble with practically zero porosity, so it is hygienic as well as easy to clean and maintain. It is uniform in colour, so can be fitted to large surfaces without noticeable differences in colour tone.
It can be used for floors, walls, vanity tops, building façades, staircases, fireplaces, door frames, furniture… you name it. It is an often superior alternative to a whole range of construction materials.
