GSS quarries the historic Ancaster Hard White, Ancaster Weatherbed and Ancaster Freestone dimension stone at Glebe Quarry, Ancaster under a lease held from The Lincoln Diocesan Trust  with a term ending December 2041.  Royalties payable and other details can be obtained from the address shown below. The lease has no unduly onerous terms within it.   Extraction is subject to planning conditions which are not onerous, and which are due to review as an old mineral planning permission in June 2025.

GSS has no outstanding debt, financial obligations or Hire Purchase commitments.

Offers are invited on the basis of the information shown on the schedule and list of items of plant owned by GSS referred to above.  Please note that the reserves stated are the opinion of the Directors.  The Directors will answer any question of fact.

A short list of prospective purchasers will have the opportunity to carry out due diligence during a period ending 30th January 2025 when offers will become contractual.  The Directors have not included in their assessment of stone reserves a bed of stone below the Ancaster Freestone, which has been named the Ancaster Base Bed, which is known to be present but has not been offered for sale hereto because it has been impracticable to extract it.  Nevertheless, production is imminent and a strong interest has already been shown.  Indications are that this stone extends to some 4-5 metres in depth.
