The Halifax Stone Carving Festival 2023 is taking place in Halifax Minster grounds, Halifax, England, 22-23 July 2023.

There are two classes of entry: Apprentices and Qualified Stonemasons & Stone Carvers.

Closing date for registration is 31 March 2023

All participants are required to work from their own design sketches or maquettes, which must be based on the theme of the festival, 'Wildlife of Yorkshire'. Participants are required to bring copies of their designs or maquettes to the festival with them.

All carvings will be auctioned off on the last day of the festival. Money raised from the public auction of the carvings will be split 50:50 between Halifax Minster and the West Riding Stone Carving Association.

Participants must bring their own tools and no power tools are allowed.

Entry Fee is £45 from all participants. The entry fee includes:

• Festival t-shirt
• Meal tickets
• Tea & coffee

Accommodation is NOT included. The nearest hotel is the Premier Inn in Broad Street Plaza, HX1 1YA, which is a 10 minute walk away.
