Burlington style at Cirrus
Burlington\'s natural stone has added its distinctive style to the prestigious Cirrus office development in the heart of Glasgow Airport Business Park.
In addition to being used in the extensive ground floor areas of the building\'s two triple height receptions, Burlington\'s Broughton Moor natural stone was specified by Glasgow-based architects Jenkins & Marr as wall cladding, step treads, vanity units, skirtings, and for the dual reception desks.
The mid-green Burlington stone first makes its presence felt as soon as you enter the 7,500m2, three storey building as it stretches out as the floor of the reception areas, the honed-finish stone laid in random running bonds by flooring contractors C Tile of Stockport, helping to create a non-uniform feel.
Contrasting with the American cherry veneered wall cladding and adding continuity, the same stone is wall cladding to the lift areas from the ground to the second floor.
Burlington\'s Broughton Moor mid-green stone can also be found in the in the four washroom blocks located on each floor. The stone has again been used as flooring and skirtings, supplied as 300mm X 300mm X 12mm floor tiles, and also appears as vanity units and splashbacks.
Finally, the stone has been deployed to link one floor to another as it features as the step treads, each with a sandblasted strip to its leading edge, on the internal staircases and on the landings.
