2011 has seen the installation of the first full automatic worktop plant from T&D Robotics.
Lapisystem Top is a patented compact solution with high performance for making kitchen worktops, countertops and complementary furniture.
Thanks to the flexibility of the robot arm and to the fast change system of the operating head, Lapisystem Top can work with an electro-spindle, a disc cutting motor, waterjet cutters and a vacuum lifting and transporting device. It works completely automatically, processing and handling workpieces at a rate of 20 kitchen tops per day – and with only one operator per shift.
The plant has been successfully installed in Switzerland and has been in continuous production since March, to the great satisfaction of T&D Robotics’ customer.
This new generation of robotic worktop production has a lot of advantages:
- It eliminates the risks involved in the manual handling of the workpieces
- It can work 24-hours a day
- It has minimal down time
- It reduces operator costs (just one person can handle the whole system).
And while the Lapisystem Top is designed specifically for the worktop market, it is still capable of producing carving and bas reliefs for tubs, statues and other stonework. The robot arm is more flexible and versatile than any other machine in the market.
The machine works within a cabin enclosure that has alarm sensors and emergency push buttons that comply with all the safety regulations of the European Community.
T&D Robotics are proud to have created and patented this new Lapisystem Top and believe it will become the reference point for quality, productivity and safety in the worktop sector.
