Linford and Vaynol launch partnership in Wales

Midlands construction group Linford has officially launched a new partnership in North Wales following the success of a co-operation between the Faenol Estate in Wales and Linford to restore the lighthouse keeper\'s cottage on Skerries, an island off the north coast of Wales.

Faenol Linford Ltd are a fully-integrated building service capable of delivering major contracts across multiple sectors and disciplines, including new build, interiors, repair and restoration.

The partnership brings together The Vaynol Estate, one of most familiar historic estates in Wales, and Linford, the Midlands-based construction group that already has offices in Lichfield and Manchester.

David Linford, executive chairman of Linford Group, said at the official launch of the new group: "North Wales is a vibrant, prospering area and there is a clear need for a major construction force capable of delivering contracts large and small across a wide range of sectors and disciplines, from new build to historic restoration.

"That\'s why we have launched Faenol Linford. The Vaynol Estate and Linford Group are perfect partners for the venture, because we can draw on the strengths and capabilities of the two organisations, including a shared commitment to training and construction excellence."

Sean Wood, managing director of the Vaynol Estate, added that the strength and diversity of Linford\'s construction capabilities made it the right partner for Vaynol.

He said: "The Vaynol Estate has a long association with the construction industry dating back to its medieval origins, and in recent years we have become synonymous with training and skill development through the Faenol Conservation School.

"The launch of Faenol Linford sees us taking another major step forward with the strongest possible partner and creating something genuinely exciting for the whole region."

The Vaynol Estate is located between Bangor and Caernarfon. It consists of 1,000 acres of parks, farmland and gardens. Within its walls there are around 70 listed structures built over a 500 year period.

Linford are main contractors on a wide range of projects across the Midlands, North West and North Wales. The company have worked in Wales for more than 40 years with a wide range of commercial, domestic and heritage buildings under their belt.
