Momentum accelerates for the Stone Show

In the past month alone, 20 new exhibitors have signed up to the Natural Stone Show. A plethora of British Stone producers are now committed to the 2013 event at ExCeL London 30 April-2 May.

Stone UK will present its genuine buff York stone paving and building stone from its quarry in Yorkshire. Another first-time exhibitor is Harvey Stone, promoting its honey-coloured Ham Hill limestone, which is at its most beautiful when sawn and troved for uses such as ashlar walling, flooring and fireplaces.

Another Somerset architectural stone quarry, Doulting, will will show its creamy brown and grey limestone that was famously used in the construction of Wells Cathedral.

The Natural Stone Show also welcomes back Johnsons Wellfield Quarries, which has supplied its Crosland Hill York stone for the inner and outer courtyards of the 2012 Stirling Award-winning Sainsbury Laboratory.

Bath Stone Group, producers of the famous Stoke Ground Bath stone, and Black Mountain Quarries, with sandstone flagstgones from Llandraw and Callow quarries in the Black Mountains and DeLank granite from Cornwall, both have plenty to tell visitors about.

French limestone will also have a significant presence at the show with a pavilion of six French producers represented through MB Stone International, which has now confirmed. Exhibitors also continue to sign up from Portugal – the latest are Lusorochas and C Mata. They will display their ever popular Moleanos, Moca Crème and Rosal.

Interest also continues to be converted into bookings for the Show from stone consumables, machinery and service suppliers. LTP will exhibit its full range of sealing and maintenance solutions for all types of stone, including its water-based impregnating sealer, Mattstone H20.

Fantini from Italy returns to promote its chain saws for the extraction of natural stone, while the Barwin Group, which has just completed external refurbishment works at Loxfords, Highbury Park, including stone repairs and cleaning, takes a place in the Stone Federation Village for the first time.

Finally, Weymouth College will be demonstrating a range of practical skills at the show and promoting its acclaimed stonemasonry courses.
