Fyfe Glenrock, the Scottish arm of stone wholesaler Pisani (which went into Administration in June), has been bought for an undisclosed sum by aggregates and construction company Leiths (Scotland) with its headquarters in Aberdeen, where Fyfe Glenrock's premises are.

Leiths is the largest family-owned, independent quarrying and construction materials business in Scotland.

Fyfe Glenrock moved into its new, purpose-built three-acre stone centre and factory in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeen, in 2006. The business has been managed for many years by Allan Bruce, who was at one time a Director of Pisani.

It has supplied the stone for some of Scotland's most prestigious projects, including the Scottish Parliamentary building, with its Scottish Kemnay and South African Belfast Black granites, which won the prestigious RIBA Stirling architectural prize in 2005. Lately Fyfe Glenrock has supplied stone to Leiths for regeneration work at The Green in Aberdeen.

Fyfle Glenrock employs 19 people. Leiths employs 570 people and has a turnover of £72million a year. It operates from 12 quarries and six other depots and offices in Scotland.
