J Rotherham's new Aurelius fire surround has Portland limestone, Neolith sintered stone and Ice White Corian hard surface
Part of The Contemporary Collection, the Aurelius fireplace surround from Yorkshire stone specialist J Rotherham has been added to the new Contemporary Collection.
The surround comes from the company's award-winning artist and designer, Jamie Rotherham.
Each design in The Contemporary Collection involves the use of sintered stone, in this case Iron Grey Neolith, with respected traditional materials, such as the Portland limestone on the Aurelius, and other hard surfaces (Ice White Corian for the Aurelius).
The surrounds are made using state of the art machinery and hand finishing at J Rotherham’s 17acre site in East Yorkshire.
An art-deco derived design, the Aurelius incorproates LED lighting that illuminates two translucent Corian pillars through a Romanesque motif casing. Additional LED’s light up the scotia moulding on the limestone plinth, again defining intricate details and finish of material.
J Rotherham holds more than 5,000 slabs in stock for a rapid turnaround and is proud that all its fireplaces are made in Britain, which means they can be altered to fit any particular size of opening required.
