Mandarin are on their way to London

Mandarin Stone, based in Monmouth, continued their move eastwards this month (July) with the opening of their eighth showroom. It is in Weybridge, Surrey.

Specialising purely in natural stone for the home and garden, Mandarin have designed showroom displays to show a vast array of stone using an ‘art gallery’ style of presentation.

Coupled with inspirational bathroom and wet room settings, customers have no shortage of choice.

Importing directly from all over the world and holding high levels of stock in the UK means Mandarin can deliver most of their range within a week.

The store at Weybridge follows one at Marlow at the turn of the year as Mandarin make their way ever closer to London. But people in London tend not to look outside the capital, so Mandarin are now looking to move into the city itself.

Louisa Morgan, the Marketing Manager and daughter of proprietor Alma Small, told NSS: “My mother’s looking at London now and when Mum gets an idea it tends to happen.

“Our showrooms are doing well and we like to keep moving forward. In this climate if everyone stood still it makes it worse. Yes, there’s been a slight downturn but nothing to worry about, really.

“We have a good range of stone and we have maintained our prices since we published out brochure at the beginning of 2008. We have taken a bit of a knock with margins to help customers. A new brochure will be published in September but we’re not looking to put prices up too much.”
