Meanwhile, at the BBC Gardeners’ World Live event at the NEC, Birmingham, another hard landscaping company Natural Paving Products (UK) Ltd was playing its part in another garden gaining a Silver-Gilt Award.
Built on a slope with one end sunk half-a-metre into the ground, the aptly named Down the Garden wowed the judges with its creativity, produced from a mixture of inputs from multi award-winning designer John Cavill and 15-year-old Harry Ward, who also won a medal last year, working with Dean Brown of Decol Construction.
Natural Paving Products’ Burnt Magenta sandstone flagstones from its Premiastone range with Graphite Vande Moortel clay pavers were used to create interlinking paths through the different areas of the garden.
Young Harry was delighted to gain the Silver-Gilt. “I can’t believe I’ve won a medal two years in a row. It’s totally amazing!” he said.
