Lovell Stone Group has appointed Pat George as Director of Operations.
Pat, who is based at the company’s Purbeck stone quarry in Dorset, has worked for the group for many years as its General Manager.
He has worked closely with all four of the company’s quarry teams (Purbeck, Swanage; Somerset Lias, Langport; Hurdcott Greenstone, Wiltshire; Chilmark & Chicksgrove, Salisbury).
His promotion to Director is a testament to his expertise, years of experience and dedication to the stone industry, as well as his exemplar reputation within the market place, says Simon Hart, the Lovell Stone Group Managing Director.
“Pat,” says Simon, “has worked for Lovell Stone Group for 51/2 years and has been a huge asset to the business. We are therefore delighted that he will be taking on a Director’s role, working closely alongside myself and my brother James.
“His operational and industry expertise is exceptional. He has been instrumental in the smooth running and growth of our quarry and masonry operation to date and will help us to develop this further in the future.”
The immediate development facing the Lovell Stone Group is taking over production from Hanson Bath & Portland of Bath Stone from Hartham Park underground quarry. Lovell promises to minimise the disruption to production that might result from the change of operator.
As well as processing its own stones, Lovell Stone Group has a modern factory at its headquarters in Swanage where it also processes other British stones, including Portland and Lincolnshire limestone.
