People from 87 companies visited Pisani's open days at their Matlock, Derbyshire, depot last month (September). The sun shone on the first day and although continuous rain on the second day kept sightseers away, those serious about purchasing from the substantial range of stone and machinery sold by Pisani were not deterred.
Paul Gidley, from Pisani's Stone Processing Supplies (SPS) division, says: "From our point of view it's been a resounding success again."
Pisani started holding open days at their Matlock depot in the late 1990s, but had not held any for the past couple of years because they were so busy, says Paul. They now intend to make their open days annual summer events.
Since the last open day Pisani have bought a Vratza quarry in Portugal and a stake in a Cashmire Gold quarry in India. They are currently finishing a purpose designed masonry yard in Scotland that sees them vacate their former premises.
They have a big factory in India that is just becoming 2,000m2 bigger with the opening of a new workshop, they have a new plant on a two-acre site in Greece and are now also in Bulgaria as they become increasingly international.
