The Ketton limestone font at SS Mary & Giles in Stony Stratford on the edge of Milton Keynes has been given pride of place on a Julian Limentani-designed Carrara and Verde Tinos marble floor with a Purbeck limestone edging and Woodkirk sandstone centre.
The stone contractors were Longstanton company Rattee & Kett, who used the Doff super-heated water system to clean the 150-year-old font before positioning it on its new floor, the stone for which was cut by Reading masons AF Jones on their new ScandInvent C4 CNC workcentre.
The marbles for the floor were hand picked by Julian Limentani from stock at wholesalers Pisani’s new premises at Feltham.
