Six years after leaving Oxfordshire masonry company J Joslin, Roy Kelly is back and his successor, Neville McLean, has left.
Roy, who has just celebrated his 60th birthday, left Joslins to retire to Spain in 2003, but remained on a retainer so that his expertise could be called on as required.
“Now,” he says, “it’s pay back time. Work’s very quiet at the moment and I’ve been called back in to drum it up.”
But it is only temporary. Roy says he has someone in mind to take over from him but “it’s a case of making sure he has a company to take charge of”.
As well as Neville, Joslins have lost their accountant and a new one has been recruited.
Roy says: “It’s almost like 1992 when I came here in the first place.”
