Szerelmey becomes first Ethical Stone Register ‘Verification’ level contractor

Specialist contractor Szerelmey has achieved 'Verification' status on the Ethical Stone Register, giving clients confidence that Szerelmey is championing the fight against modern slavery.

Specialist stone contractor Szerelmey Ltd has become the first specialist contractor to achieve ‘Verification’ level on Stone Federation Great Britain’s Ethical Stone Register (ESR).

Szerelmey achieved the second level verification on the Register following completion of the required questionnaire demonstrating its ethical trading throughout its operation and its supply chain.

The status provides Szerelmey clients with the assurance that comes from using an ESR member company.

Szerelmey is one of an ever-growing list of companies and stones on the Ethical Stone Register.

Szerelmey is a specialist in restoration and the design, supply and fixing of stonework, faience and associated works. The company specialises in building envelopes, hard landscaping and interiors.

The Ethical Stone Register is a resource created specifically for the natural stone industry in response to the Modern Slavery Act 2015, which requires larger firms to include a modern slavery statement as part of their annual report. Even if stone companies are not large enough to need to complete a modern slavery statement, being on the Ethical Stone Register enables them to help those they work for to complete theirs and to know stone is being sourced responsibly.

The Register enables stone companies, whatever their size, to offer a responsible and manageable ethical sourcing solution to their clients.
