Sustainability and design at the Natural Stone Show
Stone Federation Great Britain, whose ‘village’ of members is at the heart of the Natural Stone Show being staged at ExCeL London 15-17 March, will be announcing the winner of their first ever Sustainability Award during the exhibition.
The Award recognises efforts made towards the sustainable supply of natural stone by the industry.
Issues of sustainability and the ethical supply of stone will also be addressed at the Natural Stone & Building Conservation Conference being held at ExCeL in association with the Natural Stone Show.
Entry to the conference is free and offers you the chance to contribute to the debate.
The conference also gives you an opportunity to find out more about some of the projects honoured in the Natural Stone Awards that were presented last month (November) at Lord’s cricket ground. The speakers include architect Francis Terry of the Quinlan & Francis Terry practice, who will be talking about his winning project at 264-267 Tottenham Court Road in London.
The exhibition also offers a special Architecture Zone, presented by Marmomacc, the Italian exhibition held every year in Verona. For the past four years the exhibition organisers have brought designers together with stone processors to present some quite exceptional innovations in the use of stone, some of which will be brought to the London exhibition.
The Architecture Zone includes the work of internationally renowned architects such as Kemgo Kuma, Claudio Silvestrin, Tabla Scarpa, Patricia Urquiola and Michele De Lucchi.
Exhibitors at the Stone Show cover the whole spectrum of the international stone industry. There are stone suppliers and processors, machinery, tool and consumable suppliers, consultants and conservators.
The stone industry is developing at an accelerating pace to adapt to a changing world. It can be hard to keep up, but there is no better opportunity to do so all under one roof than at the Natural Stone Show.
You can view the list of exhibitors and see the full conference programme on the Show’s website. You can also pre-register for your visit on the website, which, as well as avoiding the queues for registration, entitles you to money-off vouchers for the Natural Stone Directory and your subscription to this magazine.
