Winners announced in MAB photo competition

Winner of the MAB ‘then and now’ photographic competition that is part of the campaign to promote stone memorialisation is Robin Bath from London.

He will receive his £1,000 first prize from Chris Lodge, Director of memorial mason and funeral director Lodge Brothers, in a ceremony at Tower Bridge in London.

The winner was chosen by public vote among the 10 short-listed entries. Each entry consists of two photographs, one of an old memorial (the ‘then’ picture) and another that was installed in the past decade (‘now’). The 10 short-listed entries were posted on the Memorial Awareness Board website rememberforever.org.uk before Christmas.

Robin was delighted with his success. “I am so pleased and most grateful to MAB for hosting such a terrific competition. My interest in exploring cemeteries continues to grow,” he says.

Runner-up is Peter Heaton from York. Peter will receive a digital camera.

All 10 of the short-listed entries will receive a certificate signed by MAB Chairman Graeme Robertson.

MAB thanks all those who entered the competition and took part in the voting. This year’s competition will be launched in the spring. Details will be posted on the MAB website.
