Our workshop in Cambridge is fully equipped with modern primary and secondary saws, allowing us to cut stone blocks direct from the quarries, ready to be worked by our craftsmen. The art of the stone carver not only involves the working of stone and marble but also demands an ability to understand, draw, design and reproduce different periods and styles. The Conservation Department has developed expertise working on a range of historical techniques and technologies. Lime based methods being our core work for stabilising, protecting and replicating historic buildings and sculpture.
