Andy Brown takes over at Rattee & Kett
Following the departure of Gordon Stygalls from Cambridge masons and conservation specialists Rattee & Kett, Andy Brown has been promoted to head the business.
Andy joined Rattee & Kett, which is part of the construction giant Mowlem, in 1983. He rose to become workshop foreman, site manager, project manager and general masonry manager. Now he heads not only the masonry side of the business, but the whole of Rattee & Kett, which also includes joinery, painting & decorating and specialist plastering operations. Ian Tolliday, who has been managing restoration contracts, now heads the masonry department.
The changes at Rattee & Kett come as Mowlem face a takeover bid and after chief executive Simon Vivian has said parts of the business could be sold off.
However, Andy is confident that whatever happens, the highly respected company formed when George Kett teamed up with James Rattee in 1848 will survive.
