"£15,000 bursaries now available to train in masonry"
Bursaries of up to £15,000 each are now available for masonry work experience placements at York Minster Works Depart-ment, Historic Property Restor-ation Ltd and The National Trust at Hardwick Hall.
The bursaries are from the Traditional Building Skills Bursary Scheme, set up last year with money from the Heritage Lottery Fund and run in conjunction with English Heritage, the National Trust, Cadw, ConstructionSkills and the National Heritage Training Group. Its aim is to boost the number of skilled craftspeople.
Eligible candidates must be competent to NVQ level 3 and enthusiastic to work in the built heritage sector.
