Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards are to cost £25. The fixed rate will replace the current variable rates that go up to a maximum of £20, but it is the first increase for more than a decade. The new rate follows the signing of a contract between Skills Certification Scheme Ltd (CSCS Ltd) and CITB-Construction-Skills. They have agreed a blueprint for the new contract (to be finalised by the end of March) intended to boost the aim of achieving a fully certified workforce by 2010.
