Independent asbestos consultancy Birstalls are currently working with the Health, Safety, Ethical & Environmental Executive and want to remind everyone who has management responsibilities for a building, especially if they employ anyone else in those buildings, that they have a legal responsibility regarding asbestos safety.

It is not necessary for people to start spending fortunes on having asbestos removed from buildings, but companies are reminded that they should locate any asbestos in their premises, recognise it for what it is and manage it properly so that employees cannot break it, saw it, drill into it or in some other way expose themselves to inhaling asbestos fibres.
