Banking on Burlington
The new three-storey, 2,844m2 offices of bankers JPMorgan in Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh, include a spectacular feature of Burlington\'s Broughton Moor stone from Cumbria. The flame-textured stone clads a 15-17m high block designed by Murray Dunlop Architects to appear separate from the main building, but in fact part of it. The striking feature is accentuated by being tapered to a 100mm fin-like edge. The cladding is in 1.8m lengths, random widths of up to 35cm, and 4cm thick. Contractors were Watson Stonecraft of West Calder.
