As part of on-going developments at Calder Quarry in northern Scotland, Calder Stone of Caithness, quarried and manufactured by Caithness Slate Products Ltd, is to be distributed nationally as Caithness flagstones and gauged width paving by BBS Natural Stone Specialists of Wakefield.

BBS are also brick brokers and supply artificial stone products.

Trevor Somny, the managing director of Calder Stone, says: :We have been looking for a suitable partner within the hard landscape sector for sometime and the synergy between the two organisation can only improve the procurement route for Caithness natural stone paving."

The new partnership has already secured two notable successes for Calder Stone. It has been specified by Newcastle City Council for a landscaping scheme at Grainger own and by the local authority for a project at Camden in London.
