Burlington back at Booths
Cumbrian retailers Booths have continued their long-term association with natural stone producers Burlington by featuring the company\'s Elterwater Green walling stone in the palette of materials used to create Booths\' new central offices.
An earlier use of Burlington stone by Booths, on the floors and walls of a specialist food area in their supermarket in Kendal, was commended in the Natural Stone Awards in November.
The stone used in Booths\' new offices, designed by Leeds architects Farrell & Clark Llp, is Burlington\'s Elterwater Green with a riven finish. It has been used to create a coursed gable wall that forms the west faÃade of the building.
Installed by Haygarth Construction of Kendal on behalf on main contractors Eric Wright Construction of Preston, the same Burlington material also features on the building\'s south entrance faÃade. Here the stone has been used as feature bands that contrast with polished concrete block work.
