Cleaning : Tensid
Tensid, which makes the Torik superheated water cleaning system, has also moved, although, like Stonehealth, it has not gone far. It is now in Byfleet, a 10minute drive from its previous premises. It, too, needed extra space, which its new premises give it, as well as being more functional on a modern industrial estate with easy access and plenty of customer parking.
Tensid has expanded rapidly over the past few years across its entire product range, although the Torik superheated water cleaning system has been in particularly high demand – it is the system that has been chosen for cleaning Battersea Power Station, where there are currently as many as four machines at a time being used to clean this London landmark (which is brick rather than stone). Torik is also currently being used to clean another of London’s landmarks, Centre Point (which is concrete).
Tensid has also now delivered a number of bespoke, self-contained Torik units, trailer or van mounted for customers who require mobility and flexibility.
And a new line just introduced by Tensid is Stone & Render Wash, which will remove greasy stains, moisture-related spots and stains, general soiling, algae and leaf stains and most other soiling and staining caused by organic growth and water.
It is a fast-acting alternative to traditional acid and strong alkaline cleaning methods. It is applied simply by brush or a pump-up low compression sprayer, left for 5-30 minutes, depending on the degree of dirt, the level of clean required and the temperature, then rinsed off with clean water.
And these are just the latest developments in the armoury of stone and façade cleaning systems offered by Tensid.
