Dust suppression without water

Ghines dust suppression systems, supplied in the UK by Pisani, have developed a dry dust suppression system.

It is called Eolos and works by sucking dust up through the front grate and/or by articulated arms directed straight on to the workpiece and collected through 32 filtering cartridges.

Special sensors monitor the suction efficiency and as soon as it falls (due to the saturation of the filters) a powerful jet of compressed air is activated to clean out the cartridges and keep suction at peak efficiency without having to turn off the unit to clean it.

When the system is turned off the self-cleaning system automatically clears the cartridges, eliminating the risk of scrap on the filters.

The dust that has been removed from the cartridges is collected into pull-out drawers that are provided with wheels for easy handling.

Besides the enormous advantage deriving from the absence of any mud wastes, Eolos provides full removal of the dust that is sucked up, has no moving mechanical parts and requires practically no maintenance.
