RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, are urging companies to show their commitment to Health, Safety, Ethical & Environmental and raise interest in such matters by entering their Occupational Safety & Health Awards Scheme. Last year RoSPA\'s competition attracted 900 entries.

Successful entrants to the scheme are recognised with Merit, Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards. The essence of the scheme is to recognise how much companies get right in their approach to and success in cutting accidents and work related ill health.

RoSPA look for evidence of what they describe as the three pillars of health and safety performance: board level leadership, sound management and effective workforce involvement.
