Cleaning up after the protests

Stone and conservation specialists DBR have been among the companies involved in the clean-up after the Union demonstrations in London last weekend (26 March).

The march organisers have blamed factions not connected with the march for attacking police officers, smashing windows and daubing banks and shops with paint after the march.

One of the buildings attacked with paint and graffiti was the Ritz Hotel, built of Portland limestone and granite, which was cleaned only last year using the French Thomann-Hanry façade gommage cleaning system.

The post-march daubings were at a low level and were limited, and DBR used the Thermatech superheated water cleaning system from Restorative Techniques to clean the prestigious hotel.
