Intermac’s Master range reached a milestone just before Christmas as the 500th five-axes Master 35 rolled off the production line at its factory in Pesaro, Italy.
Since its introduction in 2002 the Master 35 has become an indisputable benchmark of CNC workcentres in the stone processing market in the UK.
But it is not only in the UK that it has enjoyed success nor just in the stone sector. It has set a standard across the world in both the stone and glass industries and the 500th machine is currently on a ship bound for Brazil.
Meanwhile, at Intermac’s UK headquarters in Daventry, Northamptonshire, the company was introducing waterjet cutting to a broad spectrum of customers in January, including several stone companies.
The intricacy and accuracy of shapes facilitated by waterjet cutting is attracting a growing number of stone companies and NSS will be taking a look at what the technology has to offer in more detail in next month’s issue.
