Vero Software, the UK company that produced the Alphacam programme used by Toffolo Stirling, the Scottish stone processor, on its Brembana Speed-3 workcentre to make a stunning spiral staircase (see NSS March issue), has been bought by Swedish-based software giant Hexagon.
Just one program created in Alphacam Stone software drove Toffolo Stirling’s 24-tool-station Brembana Speed-3 CNC workcentre, controlling toolpaths for both the machining and sawing of the 16 hefty Jura limestone steps for the staircase going into a private dwelling.
Kenny Turnbull, Toffolo Stirling’s Managing Director, is impressed with his Alphacam software. He says it cuts down programming time considerably and has enabled Toffolo Stirling to take on work that would not be profitable without it.
