Main features of the Breton Smart Cut S/NC
General. The Breton range of CNC machines was designed from first principals for the stone industry and from its launch in 2000 quickly earnt a reputation for its ruggedness, which has the advantage of minimizing vibration and, therefore, noise. These workcentres offer great flexibility and optimal finishing quality thanks to the attention to detail in design right from the start.
Physical configuration. The Smart Cut S/NC 600 and 800 are fully interpolated four-five axes workstations measuring 4,800 mm x 6,900 mm x 3,700 mm high. The work table is 3,500 mm x 2,000 mm. The maximum slab size that can be worked (with an 800mm saw blade) is 3,500mm x 2,000mm x 240mm deep. The spindle stroke is 3,800mm x 2,800mm with a Z axis stroke up to 550mm. It can hold saw blades with diameters from 350mm to 800mm.
Capabilities. Routing, milling, drilling, grinding, making recessed drainers, profiling, inlaying and lettering. It can cut blocks and slabs into workpieces. It mounts a cutting disc for profiling blocks to obtain complex workpieces, and mounts milling tools for creating recesses and for workpiece profiling. It mounts drill bits for inside radius separation.
Spindle and drive. There is 360° rotation in either direction of the ‘C’ axis and a 0° and 45° and 0-90º tilting A axis, depending on the option chosen. The head incorporates a powerful state of the art 15kW or 26kW Siemens digital inverter brushless motor with a rotation speed up to 6,000rpm.
Table. The fixed worktable is made of structural steel with a worktop of plywood panels. The worktable is fixed to the foundations of the machine for rigidity.
Tools. There is ISO 40 tool coupling on the cutting spindle (version S/NC800 only) that enables a variety of millers and diamond drills to be used.
Control. Smart Cut SNC 600-800 have powerful Siemens 840SL numerical control integrated into a PC with a Windows XP operating system interface through a 15in touch-screen color monitor, making it simple and intuitive for the operator and providing full connectivity with commercially available network systems and optical / magnetic supports. The PC is supplied with USB-port, modem and network card. Modem and telediagnostic software enable remote diagnostics and software updates by Breton. The software is compatible with standard drawing formats, so information from laser template systems is easily imported.
Options. Tilt table, load and unload belt table, digital camera, software for shaping small blocks, and a lathe. A PC station with label printer for creating bar codes and a bar code reader are available on request.
Price. The high quality of the whole Breton range puts them at the top end of the market for the company who wants high productivity and maximum reliability. The Smart Cut S/NC 600-800 are particularly competitively priced in today’s market.
Support. All Breton machines have telephone help desk backing from the company’s our own fully trained engineers. Spare parts are available from their UK premises in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
