A new four axes CNC workcentre is introduced to the stone industry by the Italian company Prussiani Engineering, which has already earned itself a reputation for quality, precision and ruggedness with its Diamante, Golden Plus and Silver machines.
The new workcentre is called the Platino. It can shape, contour and cut marble, granite, stones and quartz.
With an ‘X’ axis of 3.8m and a ‘Y’ axis of 2m, 2.5m or 3m, this machine can cope with the production of kitchens with even the largest of islands, as well as stonework for bathrooms, tables, sinks, shower trays and even bas-relief carvings.
The fully interpolated axes of the Platino operate smoothly and accurately on recirculating roller guides and ball screws. It is built of electro composite steel and has a 34-station tool store.
With Fagor numerical control, the Platino electronically measures the thickness of the workpiece for the automatic control of the tool diameter and length, which means the Platino can work autonomously.
The aluminium sliding doors have mechanical and magnetic safety switches so they cannot be opened while the machine is working.
