Machinery, tools and consumables supplier Waters Group has spent a lot of time in the past year looking for the best surface repair kits. Now it has products to repair both quartz and ceramic/porcelain.

For quartz, Waters Group now partners, exclusively in the UK, American company Surface Savers, which makes the Quartz Renew kit that repairs surface scratches and brightens up a dulled shine on quartz.

It is a product many fabricators will appreciate as a response to customer complaints about minor blemishes after their worktops have been installed.

In fact, some already do, with more than 100 kits sold in the first month.

Waters Group Director Daniel Waters says: “The feedback has been like nothing we’ve ever had before. For £199 (ex VAT) it’s a no-brainer to have a kit in the factory ready to save a slab.”

Waters Group has also added another partner in Italian Chemical company Faber Chimica and Daniel Waters says the biggest seller is the Faber Scratch Off kit for ceramics and porcelains.

These are chemicals for use by professionals for cleaning, polishing, maintenance and stain removal on large format slabs.

Waters Group says it has partnered with Faber to help the rapidly growing number of its customers in the UK who are now making kitchen and bathroom surfaces in these materials.

Daniel says he hopes soon to have a product to cover the repair and polishing of sintered ultra-condensed surfaces.
