What a difference a year makes (III)

Continued 2

Bucking the trend, Uni-Tex Automation Systems in Bolton, Lancashire, headed by Ian Gregory are in the process of expanding their sales division. Uni-Tex offer CNC workcentres from Bimatech, edge profile machinery from FM, saws from Zonato, Tacoba and Gaspari Menotti, and filtration equipment from Bioclean, as well as the tools and consumables to go with them.
Among the developments on show at Verona will be a new five-axes machine from Bimatech that puts them unequivocally in the high-end of the market.
The technical details are being kept under wraps until the exhibition, but they say the industry will not be disappointed. They even promise some features that will be making their debut to the stone industry.
The development of existing machines is also continuing. In Verona last year Bimatech introduced a new layout Pratica, with its new CE safety barriers. This year it is the Technostone that receives the addition of the safety barriers. And the addition of the barriers will be accompanied by other changes to the layout in line with the Pratica and the new five-axes machine.
There will be new software, too, that Bimatech promise will set a new standard in terms of user-friendliness.
Verona will also see the Zonato I-Cut five-axes saw on show, with its multifunctional rotating head that can cut, saw and drill, thanks to its unique central spindle assembly.
Also on show will be the FPZ bridge saw, with the spindle unit sliding on ‘V’ guides in an oil bath. The cutting spindle and the bridge movement are regulated by a variable speed motor directly from the control panel. The head lift is driven by a 130mm diameter vertical steel beam driven by a 0.5HP variable speed motor.
The machine has a turning table provided with an hydraulic brake and fixing for various positions from 0 to 360º.

In Verona, CMS Brembana, now handling sales of their own machines in the UK from their headquarters in Nottingham after a brief association with distributors Harbro, are introducing the Sprintjet, which is a five axes bridge saw and waterjet cutter combination.
They are also introducing an angular transmission as an optional extra for their CNC workcentres so that non-radiused right angle inside corners can be cut and polished.
