With only 120 places available for participants in the European Stone Festival 2015 (26-28 June) in Strasbourg the deadline for registration had been brought forward to 21 December (read more). That seems to have been a bit ambitious and it has now been put back to 21 February.
Unusually lacking the expected German efficiency, there was no form for those wishing to take part to fill in on the Festival's website (address at the bottom) nor even any details about the 2015 event. But that has been addressed, so those wishing to participate can now do so more easily – although please note: The deadline is still earlier than usual.
The European Stone Festival was conceived by Germany's Freiburg Technical College for Stonemasonry & Stone Carving. It is run each year in co-operation with a different city around Europe. In 2013 it came to Lincoln in England and in 2014 was back at Freiburg. In 2015 it is in Strasbourg, where the cathedral is celebrating its millennium. The Stone Festival will be part of those celebrations. It will be well worth a visit, even if you don't participate.
