Recognising the international reach of the UK’s leading architectural practices that regularly visit the Natural Stone Show, the Architects’ Day at the Show in 2013 is going global.
The Show is being held at ExCeL London from 30 April to 2 May next year, and the Architects Day will be hosted by Vincent Marazita, the renowned international consultant who specialises in the natural stone industry.
Graduating from Harvard in 1981, Vincent Marazita lived in Italy for six years, teaching at the Architectural Department of the University of Genoa before returning to the USA as a consultant for the Italian government.
He has earned an enviable reputation worldwide since he started working in the dimension stone industry in 1986 and his contribution to the Architects’ Day at the Stone Show will benefit the architects from world-leading practices such as BDP, Broadway Malyan and Foster + Partners who regularly visit the Stone Show.
These practices have offices in more than 50 centres across the globe, from Sao Paulo to Shanghai, New York to Nairobi, Abu Dhabi to Amsterdam and Moscow to Mumbai.
The theme of the Architects’ Day is: International Architecture in Natural Stone: Sourcing, Selection and Testing of Natural Stone for Global Building Projects.
As well as Mr Marazita, the Stone Show is teaming up with the Italian Marmomacc exhibition organisers in Verona and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for the Architects’ Day, which is an accredited CPD event.
Architects will be registered for a full day, which will encompass a relevant case study in the morning, a range of technical seminars, lunch and a guided tour of the Stone Show.
