The National Museum of Ireland in Dublin is hosting the first one-day seminar on Irish geoheritage on 24 March.
The aim is to bring together all those in Ireland involved in heritage aspects of geology.
There are speakers from the Natural History Museum, the Geological Survey of Ireland and the Department of Geology at Trinity College, Dublin, as well as the National Museum of Ireland. Earth Science Ireland, Castlecomer Discovery Park, Ice Age Ireland and the educational resources of GeoScol.
The speakers will talk about the diversity of actions and projects in Ireland aimed at making geoheritage accessible to all in order to increase awareness and understanding of the secrets of stone.
It is on a Saturday to make it easy for people to be able to attend and will cost €15 (€10 concessions). Booking is required.
