Memorial wholesaler Odlings in Hull and its associated company of Odlings MCR, which sells blast cabinets, masking tape, handling equipment and other tools and consumables used by memorial masons, are holding an open day at Odlings' premises in Hull on Thursday and Friday 26 & 27 June.
It is a trade event for memorial masons and will include a tour of the Odlings site, including the workshops where the company's incredibly skillful and fine memorial artwork is produced, a demonstration of an Odlings MCR sandblast cabinet and a newq CNC rotary engraver and a presentation of the Masonart computer program.
There will also be displays by: Wilkinson Star, which sells air compressors; Jeremiah Strongarm (gold leaf, dowels, flower pots); John Trafford (metal spinner supplier of vases and cremation urns); CCA (ground supports including ground anchor systems for memorial fixing).
Anyone retailing stone memorials is welcome, although Odlings do ask you to let them know you will be coming so they know how many to cater for, so please call them on 01482 324332 or email info@oldings.co.uk.
Odlings published a new catalogue last year and are not producing a new one for this year because they know customers do not like a lot of change. However, they are asking all customers to update to the latest catalogue for ordering purposes. They say there are still those using the previous catalogue, which can lead to confusion.
There is more about memorial masonry in the June issue of Natural Stone Specialist magazine, including news of the first long barrow to be built in 5,000 years and memorials with cast death masks being included on them. Click here to subscribe.
