Filling up faster than ever

The UK\'s sixth Natural Stone Show, being held in London\'s ExCeL exhibition centre 9-11 March next year, is proving more popular than ever.

Sales of space for the Show are 32% ahead of sales at the same period of the fifth Natural Stone Show in 2002, which was also at ExCeL.

In fact, space is selling so quickly that the organisers, who say the level of demand illustrates that the two yearly frequency of the Show is important to the industry, are considering extending the floorspace to accommodate all those companies who want to exhibit.

Backed by the UK stone industry and with the StoneFederation Village at its heart, the Natural Stone Show encompasses the whole spectrum of the stone industry in the UK - interior design, new build, restoration, hard landscaping and memorials. Like all the other important stone shows in the world it includes a mixture of indigenous and imported stones, fixings, treatments and machinery, so that the trade and its customers can see all the latest developments in the industry.

As well as the trade itself, the Natural Stone Show enjoys the support of the industry\'s customers. It is sponsored by English Heritage and the Royal Institute of British Architects and has the major architectural publication, The Architects\' Journal, as the architecture promotion partner for the Show.

A major two-stream conference will take place at ExCeL in conjunction with the Show. The Natural Stone & Building Conservation Conference, with its CPD-accredited lecture programmes covering both new build and conservation will be another major attraction, especially for professionals needing to learn more about the specification and use of stone.

Exhibition manager Richard Bradbury says: "With the UK economy fairing so much better than most of Europe\'s at the moment and the impressive growth there has been in the use of stone in the UK for nearly a decade now, it is understandable that so many UK and international companies want to show their products here. And there\'s no better place to do it than at the Natural Stone Show."
