French company Pronal have developed a range of inflatable lifting bags to assist in the extraction of blocks from 200kg to 800 tonnes.

Deflated, the bags are less than 7mm thick so they can be inserted into a saw cut. Once in place, the bag is gradually inflated to a maximum pressure of seven bar, toppling the block in the direction required.
