Iain Kennedy moves from Farrar to Realstone

Iain Kennedy, the managing director of George Farrar (Quarries) in Keighley, West Yorkshire, has moved to Realstone in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

He leaves Farrars after more than 10 years to take up a marketing position on the board of Realstone.

He is succeeded at Farrars by Ben Farrar, a chartered accountant and corporate financier who is the fifth generation of his family in the business. He joins his father, Richard Farrar.

Iain Kennedy said: "I am very sorry to leave a good company with some very good people. I\'m sure Ben will continue the good work and that the company will flourish under his guidance.

"Realstone will be a new challenge for me where there will be many new and exciting developments over the coming months."

Richard Farrar, chairman of George Farrar (Quarries) Ltd, said he was sorry to see Iain go, but thanked him for all the positive contributions he had made during his period at Farrars and wished him continued success in his new position at Realstone.

He said he was pelased by the prospect of a new generation of Farrars leading the company and had every confidence in Ben\'s ability to take the company forward.
