Intermac appoints new MD for \'aggressive growth\'

Max Manina has been appointed managing director of Biesse UK, which incorporates the Intermac CNC miller-routers, as part of a re--organisation to strengthen the board of the company, they say.

Biesse sell woodworking machinery but say the UK company has doubled in size over the past five years with a significant contribution coming from the establishment of Intermac UK, which supplies stone and glass processing machinery, in 2002.

As a result, the top post is no longer a one-man job and former managing director Trevor Bullen, an accountant by profession, has decided to step aside into the newly-created role of finance director. Max Manina takes overall responsibility for the management and future direction of Intermac UK and concentrates particularly on sales and service.

He has worked for the Italian manufacturing group since 1990 and has held posts throughout the world, especially south-east Asia. He moved to the UK in 1998 and most recently was based in Ireland.

He says: "My objective is to build on the existing strength of Intermac UK and Biesse UK in the stone, glass and woodworking industries by providing a first-class service to help our customers succeed in their business."
