Last call for CITB claims

CITB-ConstructionSkills has issued a final call to companies that want to claim a CITB Grant for training in 2004/2005.

The deadline is 31 October and CITB-ConstructionSkills warn that claims received after 31 October will be rejected (except for Training and Development Plans and NVQ/SVQ qualification claims that can be submitted after this date).

CITB-ConstructionSkills registered employers are eligible to claim a CITB Grant even if they pay no levy. Grants are available for all kinds of training, even non-construction training like computing or customer service.

Anne Macdonald, CITB-ConstructionSkills grant product manager, says: "In 2004, CITB-ConstructionSkills paid out £97million in CITB Grant. For every £1 of CITB Levy paid, the industry received £1.79 in grants and support.

"Following employer feedback, we have extended the CITB Grant claim period to allow employers more time to get their 2004/2005 Grant claims in before the scheme year closes."
