American standards organisation ASTM International’s Dimension Stone Committee (C18) is sponsoring a Symposium on Dimension Stone Use in the Built Environment on 6 October in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel in Georgia, USA, in conjunction with the October standards development meetings of the committee.
It is one of the first face-to-face meetings ASTM will have held since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic scare in the USA.
The objective of this symposium is to bring together the diverse interests of professionals in the dimension stone community involved with the design, construction, evaluation, and use of dimension stone. They will have a formal exchange of information on the behavior of dimension stone in the built environment.
Symposium topics include, but are not limited to, physical and/or mechanical properties, design, evaluation and investigation, durability, and maintenance and restoration.
Online preregistration is open now through to 29 September. For more information or to register for the event, visit www.astm.org/C18SympReg.
Additional technical information is available from symposium chair Steven Naggatz (snaggatz@wje.com) or co-chair Charles Muehlbauer (charles@naturalstoneinstitute.org).
