Local slate for Welsh botanical garden
Pictured here is the inside of Foster & Partners Great Glasshouse, the centrepiece of the National Botanic Garden of Wales, which has restored and brought back into use hundreds of hectares of land in South Wales. And what more appropriate material to use in Wales than Welsh Slate supplied by the province\'s largest producer, Alfred McAlpine Slate. They supplied 500m2 of Dark Blue Riven paving from Cwt-y-Bugail as well as slate mulch for the garden area and fine rubbed cladding for vanity panels in the cloakrooms.
