NAMM qualified fixer register goes live

The NAMM Register of Qualified Memorial Fixers (RQMF) went live on schedule at the beginning of this month (November).

The NAMM register is designed to challenge the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM) as the prerequisite for fixing memorials in the country’s municipal cemeteries.

Although NAMM established BRAMM, which was offcially launched in February 2005, the Association felt that BRAMM was trying to take over some of its role, especially regarding training, and was making unnecessary demands for continual assessment on its members.

NAMM has just become a City & Guilds assessment / accreditation centre for memorial fixing training and issues C&G certificates for those who successfully complete the training.

NAMM withdrew its support for BRAMM in June, although it was clear at its AGM in September that not all members support the move by their association.
