Marshalls on the telly

Yorkshire company Marshalls\' Natural Stone Division have been mixing with the stars as they have supplied stone for Castleford Project\'s \'The Green\' being featured on Channel 4 and for the Hollyoaks garden at RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in July. The top teen drama, also on Channel 4, won a Gold Medal in the Back to Back gardens category at Tatton park.

Marshalls\' Natural Stone Division supplied more than 54 tonnes of York stone blocks of up to five tonnes apiece to create a \'volcano\' for children to play on as part of the regeneration of a run-down area of Yorkshire in the Castleford Project.

The part of the project getting the \'volcano\' is The Green, which involves regeneration at Ferry Fryston, Castleford. It is a collaboration between Channel 4 television, key local and national agencies and the local community.

The progress of The Green and all The Castleford Project\'s schemes are being filmed by production company Talkback UK to produce a programme that will be broadcast by Channel 4. The programme will be presented by Kevin McCloud (of Grand Designs fame).

And at the Tatton park Flower Show Marshalls\' Natural Stone Division co-operated with the Hollyoaks production team to supply cladding and flooring material in polished and flame-finished Chinese Green Granite. They cut the granite and installed it at the site for the show.

The RHS Tatton storyline was concieved when scriptwriters had the idea for Jake Dean (Kevin Sacre), the show\'s resident gardener, to be encouraged by friends and family to enter his landscape designs in the show. The epsode was shown on 5 August.
